Bar design and node construction
The cross section of the truss structure should be determined according to the strength and stability. In order to reduce the calculated length of the pressure bar and increase its stability, the measures such as adding re-dividing bar and supporting bar can be adopted. The joints of plate and double shell type grids made of steel are mainly composed of cross plate joints, welded hollow ball joints and bolt ball joints. The cross plate joints are suitable for the grid structure of the shaped steel bar. Hollow ball joints and bolt ball joints are suitable for steel tube frame structure. The joints of the single-layer shell truss should be able to withstand the internal bending force. In general, the steel consumption of the joints accounts for 15 ~ 20% of the total steel consumption of the entire structure.
